The price increase at the producer level in Sweden is thus increasing in strength. In April, the increase was 23.8 per cent year-on-year and 1.2 per cent compared with the previous month.
In the domestic market, it was mainly price increases in trade in electricity and food that drove up the price situation the most. In addition, there was a price increase on paper and stationery.
“In the export market, higher prices for the generation of electricity and paper and stationery accounted for the largest contributions. This increase was offset to some extent by lower prices for metals, waste management services, other machinery and for chemicals and chemical products,” Statistics Sweden continues.
“The main contribution to the rise in the import market was due to higher crude oil prices. Price increases for pharmaceuticals, metals and rubber and plastic products also contributed upwards,” adds Statistics Sweden.
