Another reason why the adaptation was successful: game author Neil Druckmann was also responsible for the series script and largely remained his Play faithfully. Thanks to the series’ huge popularity, HBO quickly green light for a second season given, but production is a long time coming, which is partly due to the Hollywood strike by actors and screenwriters. Filming should finally begin in 2024.
