The Ukrainian Embassy in Italy is concerned about Russian propaganda.
Pro-Russian posters have appeared in various parts of Italy during the summer. The posters on the billboards say, for example, “Russia is not our enemy” and the picture shows a handshake in the colors of the Italian and Russian flags. A US news channel tells about it CNN.
According to CNN, posters have been seen in Rome this week with the text “Enough money for weapons for Ukraine and Israel. We want peace. We reject war.”.
Pro-Russian posters have been seen for the first time in June, at least in Verona, Modena, Parma and Pisa, as well as in the Calabria region in southern Italy.
Behind the advertising campaign are associations that started their activities by opposing the corona lockdowns imposed on the country.
The Ukrainian Embassy in Italy is disappointed with the advertising campaign.
– We are deeply concerned about the arrogance of Russian propaganda in the eternal city (Rome), the mission wrote in the message service X.
– We ask to reconsider the granting of permits for advertising posters that clearly want to raise the image of the aggressor state.
In Italy, reactions to the posters have varied by region. In some places local authorities have removed the posters, while in some areas they have been allowed to remain visible until the end of the payment.
