Pernilla Wahlgren and Christian Bauer fell for each other at the turn of the year 2020/2021. The following year, Bauer proposed during a family trip to Sälen.
“It took a while before I understood that it was really real, that he wasn’t just joking with me, but when I saw the tears that ran down Christian’s cheeks, I understood – and the answer was an obvious YES…!”, wrote Pernilla Wahlgren in a post on Instagram then.

Have Pernilla Wahlgren and Christian Bauer married twice?
Just over a year after the engagement, in December 2023, the couple married for the first time. The wedding was small and intimate because Pernilla’s father Hans Wahlgren had contracted cancer and his health had deteriorated.
In order for him not to miss his daughter’s wedding, they decided to get married in a hurry. Hans Wahlgren then passed away on May 10, 2024.
Even though the couple is already married on paper, they still wanted to celebrate their love with friends and family. So on September 13, they flew to Marbella, Spain to get married one more time.
The festivities lasted for three days together with roughly 130 guests.
Intimate holiday in paradise suite
On Instagram, where Pernilla Wahlgren has 887 thousand followers, she shares pictures and clips from the honeymoon.
Right now they are in Sri Lanka, specifically Jetwing Saman Villas, a resort with restaurants, spas and various experience packages. There, the newlyweds took the opportunity to live in a luxurious suite in a villa with its own pool and sea view.

On Instagram story, followers can follow most of what Pernilla and Christian do on their honeymoon. It includes luxurious dining, spa and massage.

Massage has been on the schedule several times for the bride and groom.
“And these two also treated themselves to a massage again today..! Total relaxation and you got a red dot on your face as well,” writes Pernilla Wahlgren in an Instagram story.

They have also been visited by Christian Bauer’s children. Then the gang treated themselves to sushi from a colorful buffet on the beach.
