Prison for restaurant fires in Stockholm

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

The woman had previously worked at one of the restaurants but had been dismissed just over six months earlier. She got to the place late at night and lit it using scarves and blankets soaked in disinfectant.

The District Court convicts her of aggravated arson because another of the fires led to a restaurant on Djurgården burning to the ground, and there was also the risk that the flames spread to the nearby Nordic Museum.

The woman has confessed to the crimes but claimed that she was forced to commit them by a voice in her head. However, she has not been judged to suffer from a mental disorder when she committed the crimes, but nevertheless received a reduced sentence because she had mental problems that impaired her ability to control, according to the district court.
