A man in his 40s is sentenced by the Gotland district court to four years in prison and damages of almost SEK 300,000 for serious violation of women’s privacy and rape, reports the newspaper Helagotland.
The man is said to have, among other things, pressed a gun to his ex-partner’s head and threatened to shoot her if she did not do as she was told.
According to the verdict, the man also raped the woman and on several occasions threatened her and her child with death.
The man denies the accusations and states that he has a need for control due to a neuropsychiatric impairment. He also believes that he should not have to pay damages.
