Soon there will be more running children’s feet in Villa Solbacken on Djurgården where prince Carl Philip and the princess Sophia lives. In February 2025, it is estimated that Princess Sofia will give birth to the couple’s fourth child.
The little princes – the prince siblings Alexander, prince Gabriel and prince Julian – longing.
– They seem happy about both, I thought. They are a little impatient, they think it’s a long time until February!, Princess Sofia recently told The evening paper.

On 19 April 2016, Carl Philip and Sofia’s first son, Prince Alexander, was born. Then it went away – the following year their second son, Prince Gabriel, was born. His birthday is August 31, 2017, which means that they are so-called pseudo-twins – when there is a maximum of 18 months between the children. Princess Sofia and Prince Carl Philip’s third son Prince Julian came into the world on March 26, 2021.
Princess Sofia rarely gives interviews, but the media-shy sessa opened the door to privacy in an interview with the newspaper Kupé in 2017. Then Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia told us that their everyday life is actually like that of many other parents of young children. When asked what a normal weekday evening might look like, Prince Carl Philip replied “chaos” and many late dinners for himself and Sofia.
– I think our weekday evenings look like those of other parents of small children. We try to create as much family time as possible in the evenings, with bathing and sleeping and getting routines in place. But ask me again in a couple of months, hahha, Sofia said then.
She also told them that they got a couple of small glimpses that it was much more difficult with two children than with one.
– But it’s also twice as much love, Sofia then told Kupé.

There has been speculation about what name Carl Philip and Princess Sofia’s new addition will get, and when the court experts Look Schultz52, and Ebba Kleberg von Sydow, 43, visited Nyhetsmorgon, Titti hit the big drum and declared:
– I have felt, since the news came, that this will be a princess. I’m absolutely sure. I’m ready to start betting on it. Large sums. I am absolutely sure of it. I have zero intuition, so I’m probably wrong. Until the baby is here, I will say that it will be a princess, 100 percent, Titti said then.

Ebba Kleberg von Sydow then also guessed the baby’s name.
– If I were to throw in a safe name, it would probably be Marie in that case, after Sofia’s mother. That it becomes a middle name. Then I would guess and hope for a classic royal name, Sibylafter the king’s mother. Ingrid, superb. Or Christina, she said then. If it was going to be a boy, von Sydow hoped for the name People.
Svensk Dam is also interested in the name Marie as a middle name, but other names that the newspaper is betting on are:
Marie (Princess Sofia’s mother)
Silvia (the Queen’s first name)
Renate (Queen Silvia’s middle name)
Britt (Princess Sofia’s grandmother)
Ingegerd (Princess Sofia’s grandmother’s middle name)
Kristina (Princess Sofia’s middle name)
Lilian (after Prince Bertil’s wife Princess Lilian)
If it’s going to be a boy, write Swedish Lady that possible middle names could be Erik after Princess Sofia’s father, but also Edmund may be a possibility as the king’s father actually used to be called that.
Exciting!
