During Thursday evening, the Childhood Foundation’s annual charity gala took place in New York. The envelope fee started at SEK 15,000 and up, and in the historic premises at 583 Park Avenue in New York, the doors were opened to a lavish dinner and gala for the guests. It was especially special when the World Childhood Foundation celebrated 25 years, and Princess Madeleine was of course there.

The attire was black tie, and during the evening there was entertainment, dancing and auctions where the money goes to the organization’s important work. Among the auctioned items were extremely exclusive diamond earrings, four days in a Tuscan villa, four courtside tickets to the Brooklyn Nets or a lavish dinner cooked by Frithioph of Pontuswrites Childhood on its homepage.
The evening began with a cocktail reception at 18:00 which was then followed by dinner at 19:00. Princess Madeleine shone in an emerald green dress from the brand Self Portrait – which was not exactly cheap. News24 can reveal that it was lost for SEK 6,900. But Princess Madeleine matched with significantly cheaper accessories – at least her glittering heels from the Zara chain – and they only cost a couple of hundred Swedish kroner, which can be seen as budget in the context.

On the red carpet were, among others, CNN’s famous news anchors JJulia Chatterley, the designer Anne Fontainethe journalist Lovisa de Geer andch Princess Madeleine’s best friend Louise “Lussan” Thott. Another familiar and famous face at the luxurious party was none other than the Swedish fashion profile and entrepreneur Sophie Fahrman Engelbert.
Sofi Fahrman is the fashion profiler who today blogs at Elle and has also founded the company Pick a poppy which makes table setting details – everything from placemats, coasters, plates, napkins and mugs.
Sofi, who has over 140,000 followers on Instagram, also has the podcast Trettio plus trevar together with Klara Doktorow and Tove Norström. But it is not surprising that Madeleine and Sofi’s paths crossed during the evening – they have been close friends for several years, and when Madeleine broke off her engagement with Jonas Bergström and fled to New York, she received great support from Sofi, who also lived there at the time.

Sofi was also a self-appointed guest when Princess Madeleine and Chris O’Neill married, and she has also attended all the children’s baptisms.
But when Sofi married the tech billionaire Philip Engelbert in Venice, Madeleine unfortunately missed the festivities, something she regretted. “HOW I wish I could be there with you!”, Madeleine commented on one of Sofie’s wedding photos at the time, reported Swedish Lady.
