Princess Madeleine moved to Sweden without Chris O’Neill

Princess Madeleine moved to Sweden without Chris ONeill

Princess Madeleine42, has for the past six years lived in Florida, USA, together with the American husband Chris O’Neill and their three children Leonore10, Nicholaspp9, and Adrienne6.

But it seems that the family is tired of Florida and instead wants to experience Sweden all year round, because for a long time they have been planning a move back to their home country – something that became a reality on Thursday morning.

That is when Princess Madeleine landed at Arlanda together with the children and their nanny. Husband Chris was not on the trip, raising questions about why he didn’t come along.

Why are Princess Madeleine and Chris O’Neill moving?

Princess Madeleine and her husband Chris moved to the holiday paradise of Miami back in 2018 and have, for the past six years, sent their children to an American school. In other words, the little prince and princesses have spent most of their lives in the United States.

Madeleine now wants to change that, but is there any other reason for the move?

Yes, according to Swedish Women’s Magazine Madeleine has missed both her family and friends in Sweden.

“She is tired of sitting all day at home in her 80-million villa without much social interaction. All her closest friends live their lives at home in Stockholm – Madeleine has an entire Atlantic between her, her friends and the rest of the family,” writes Svensk Damtidning’s editor-in-chief Johan T Lindwall.

In order to carry out a move across the Atlantic, Madeleine and Chris therefore needed to sell the enormous house of 657 square meters.

It tried to sell the villa as early as 2023, but the high price of SEK 82.8 million deterred potential buyers, which The evening paper previously written about. The princess couple then lowered the starting price to 79.2 million, but did not get a pacifier then either.

Not until the spring of 2024 did they manage to get the Miami house sold, whose price tag finally landed at SEK 75 million.

Why was Chris O’Neill missing on the flight to Sweden?

Now life in Sweden begins for Princess Madeleine and her family, but husband Chris has not been seen on Swedish soil yet, which Swedish Women’s Magazine was the first to report on.

Why he did not go along with the official moving trip is still unclear, but according to the newspaper, he has prepared for the move by starting a Swedish company that will have an office in Östermalm in Stockholm.

– Chris has an incredibly wide network of contacts. He will start from Stockholm and travel the world. I do not consider it impossible that he will have an intermediate base in either New York or London, writes Johan T Lindwall, editor-in-chief at Svensk Damtidning.
