Princess Madeleine is now moving home to Sweden – after ten years in the USA. Princess and Prince Leonore and Nicolas will go to school and Princess Adrienne will go to preschool in Stockholm. Madeleine will continue to work with her work as chairman of the World Childhood Foundation.
– Of course we will see her in a more prominent role, says Ebba Kleberg von Sydow.
In 2010, Princess Madeleine moved to New York and worked at the World Childhood Foundation’s office there. She and the family then lived in London for three years before moving on to Florida, where they have resided until today. But in August 2023, the whole family will move back to Sweden again.
– It’s surprising royal news, says Ebba Kleberg von Sydow, who has watched over the royal house for a long time.
What Christopher O’Neill will work on in Sweden is still unclear, but with the move to Sweden, we will see much more of both Princess Madeleine and the whole family.
A few years ago, the princess took on a much bigger and more significant role in the World Childhood Foundation – the foundation that her mother the Queen has founded, and that will continue to be her job.
– Of course we will see her in a more prominent role, says Kleberg von Sydow.
The family will initially settle in the royal house’s apartment in Hovstallet – right in the heart of Stockholm.
– The question is how well it suits a family with three small children. Maybe eventually they will move into one of the villas instead, but we’ll see.
Princess Leonore and Prince Nicolas will both start school in Stockholm, but the court has not yet decided which school.
– Many are speculating about campus Manilla, says Efter fem’s program manager Henrik Alsterdal. The children’s cousin, Crown Princess Estelle, also goes there.
