Prince Harry attacks his brother William by describing a violent

In a book published on January 10, 2023, Prince Harry opens up about relationships with his family. He recounts a violent argument that occurred with his brother, Prince William.

After the turmoil caused by the broadcast of the Harry & Meghan documentary on Netflix last December, the prince harry continues a long media sequence that puts the royal family under tension. On January 10, in fact, the memoirs of the Duke of Sussex will be released, entitled “Spare”, “Le Suppléant” in French (Fayard editions, 26.50 euros). According to the first echoes obtained by the British media Guardianwhich published good sheets, the prince now exiled in America would have been violently “pushed” in 2019 by his brother, prince William.

The relationship between the two brothers has not been good since the meeting between Harry and Meghan. The British news newspaper, which had access to the book in preview, points to an event described in the book, which took place in 2019 in Harry’s London residence: his brother, Prince William, would have called Meghan of “difficult” and “rude”. Not supporting these words, he would have replied that he was only a “parrot of the press”. According to the story of the younger brother, Prince William did not know how to keep calm and grabbed his brother “by the collar”, “ripped off his necklace and [l’aurait] thrown to the ground”. Harry wrote of having “landed on the dog’s bowl, which broke under [son] back”, the pieces causing him “scrapes and bruises”. These new allegations are not the first accusations that the 38-year-old prince has shared about his brother and more widely against the royal family.

A wave of interviews, the silence of the royal family

On the side of Harry and Meghan, exiled in the United States, the interviews and statements are linked and follow each other. Press interviews, books, documentaries… The royal family, for its part, continues to wallow in silence so as not to give more echo to these outbursts. Last turbulences in date before the exit of the memories of Harry, this Sunday January 8 are diffused two promotional interviews on the American television, one on CBS and the other on ITV News. In an excerpt shared on the site of this last medium, we see Prince Harry answering a simple question: is there not in the publication of his book an invasion of the privacy of his loved ones? The Duke felt that to see it as a public unboxing “would be the accusation of people who do not understand – or do not want to believe – that [s]his family informed the press”.

Harry indeed accuses his brother and his father, King Charles III, of having revealed private information about the exiled couple which was completely confidential. Words that he also hammered home on CBS, harshly judging the royal family. “When we’ve been told for six years, ‘we can’t make a statement to protect you,’ but they do for the rest of the family, there’s a time when silence is betrayal,” said he castigated.

However, a few months ago, on March 7, 2021, during a meeting with Oprah Winfrey, he declared that he still “adored” William. “We’ve been through hell together (…) but we’re on different paths,” he admitted. Before concluding that “time heals all things”. Not sure, given the vigor of his latest attacks on the monarchy.
