Primoz Roglic had to leave the Tour of France in the summer due to injury, but won the Tour of Spain – once again.
The Slovenian from the Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe team Primoz Roglic has won the cycling tour of Spain for the fourth time. Only Spain has been able to do the same before Roberto Heras In the early 2000s.
Roglic entered the round-ending 24.6-kilometer time trial with a two-minute lead over the second-placed Australian from the AG2R team Ben O’Connor.
In the final stage, Roglic cut the total gap to two minutes and 36 seconds and was second in the time trial. Swiss Stefan Küng roasted Sunday’s stage 30 seconds faster than Roglic and took his first Grand Tour stage win.
Roglic had to leave the Tour of France in the summer due to a fall, and the race in Spain was uncertain. However, Roglic recovered from his injuries quickly for a hard hit.
