– It would enable closer Nordic and Baltic defense co-operation and strengthen the alliance’s presence in the north.
Commented on Turkey’s opposition
– I welcome the fact that Sweden has already begun to change the country’s anti-terrorism legislation and assure that the arms export legislation will be in line with their future status as a NATO member, with new commitments towards allies, says Stoltenberg.
– We will be very clear about how we fight terrorism. We have tightened our laws and have much stronger anti-terrorism legislation than before.
Stoltenberg will also participate in discussions with the government during his visit.
