PRIME DAY Second and last day for Prime Day Amazons

PRIME DAY. Second and last day for Prime Day, Amazon’s great commercial operation! The opportunity to take advantage of exceptional promotions on high-tech products for Prime subscribers. Including with the one-month free trial…

Only a few hours left to enjoy Prime Day! The fall edition of Amazon’s great ritual commercial operation, which began on Tuesday October 11, ends in effect this Wednesday 12, at 11:59 p.m. Subscribers to the very practical Amazon Prime formula can take advantage of superb promotions on thousands of products in many departments – garden, kitchen, hygiene, toys… and of course tech! An edition that comes for the second time this year, just a few weeks after the French Days, and before the famous Black Friday in November.

Launched in 2015 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the e-commerce giant, this special operation was extended to two days following its great success. The opportunity to buy high-tech products or items for the home with substantial reductions, sometimes going up to more than 70%: smartphone, laptop gamer, wireless headphones, bluetooth headphones, 4K TV… We are bound to find our happiness! And it’s not always low-end or unsold: this year again, we find reference and successful products signed by major brands, such as Samsung, Apple, Asus, HP, Philips, LG, Xiaomi or Google, to name a few in electronics. As the name suggests, this operation is reserved for Prime subscribers. But it is possible to take advantage of it thanks to the free trial offer of the service for one month.

Prime Day: discounts for Amazon Prime subscribers

As a reminder, Amazon Prime is a subscription loyalty program offered by the e-commerce giant which entitles you to many services. The formula costs 6.99 euros per month or 69.99 euros for a year, all at once. It can be tested for thirty days for free, and without obligation, which allows you to take advantage of Prime Day without paying a subscription: you just have to cancel the offer before the end of the trial, to avoid an automatic and paid renewal! Amazon Prime offers many services. Thus, the products are delivered free of charge in one or two working days. The service also integrates a video on demand platform (Amazon Prime Video), similar to Netflix or Disney+, with films, series and other programs. But Amazon Prime also gives access to Prime Music, an audio streaming service with two million music titles available offline, and Prime Reading, which gives access to many books in digital format. And of course, there is Prime Gaming which, on Prime Day, offers subscribers thirty free PC games!

Prime Day 2022: watch out for phishing scams!

Be very vigilant during Prime Day: scammers take advantage of this period of promotions to scam Internet users, pretending to be Amazon customer service. Often, this is an email to “inform” you that “one of the orders has been cancelled” or that you have made a purchase without knowing it. The email is accompanied by an alleged invoice as an attachment. In reality, it is a file infected with malware capable of sucking up your personal and banking data. Furthermore, the site TechradarPro also warns against emails asking to “update Amazon billing data”. The message is accompanied by a link to a fake page similar to that of the Amazon site, the goal being to recover your personal and banking data… Classic, but effective phishing techniques, which always cause victims (see our practical sheet on phishing).

The rule is simple: never click on a link in an email if you are not absolutely sure of the sender, especially if it is a question of purchase or money! In general, it is best to log into your Amazon customer account on the site or via the mobile application to check your orders. If in doubt, you can always contact customer service for confirmation.
