In the month dedicated to prevention or we return to talking about this neoplasm: after the appointment in Naples in September, Autostrade per l’Italia continues to support the “Prevention Caravan” project of Komen Italy, who returns to the capital in October to continue the awareness-raising process, with a program dedicated to the women of the IV Municipality, where the Company’s General Management is based.
Since this morning, in the car park of the “Il casello dei Piccoli” nursery, the Mobile Units of Komen Italia have carried out free breast screening for female residents, also thanks to the important collaboration with the IV Municipality which sponsored the initiative. On this day there were over 50 requests for services, including 40 mammograms for women over 40 and 15 ultrasounds for women under 40.
The President of the IV Municipality participated in the day Massimiliano Umberti, the vice-president of the IV municipality and Councilor for School and Welfare Annarita Leobruni and Alessia Ruzzeddu ASPI Welfare Diversity & Inclusion Management Manager.
The prevention opportunities are insured in particular to women who live in conditions of social fragility, economic uncertainty and who belong to categories of greater risk for breast cancer, as well as to women who are not screened regionally (mammography for women between 40 and 49 years old and over 74 and breast ultrasound under 40).
«This year too – states Alessia Ruzzeddu, Head of Welfare Diversity & Inclusion Management – we return to Rome, with an oncological prevention initiative to combat the most widespread neoplasm in the female universe. We are aware of the importance of networking, therefore we want to offer equal access to self-care to the women of the neighborhood that hosts our company and with which we have a close mutual relationship. And this is what we are talking about: prevention days with completely free breast screening, now offered in the neighbourhood, Municipality IV, which hosts the General Management of Autostrade per l’Italia”.
The National Itinerant Program for the Protection of Women’s Healthstarted in 2015 by Komen Italia, in collaboration with Fondazione Policlinico Universitario A.
