The mother forced her son to act as a drug courier, according to the indictment.
Chat conversations show how the boy, who is under 15 years old, is being pressured to sell drugs.
Now the mother is sentenced to five years in prison for serious drug offences.
It was when the narcotics police swooped in after a reconnaissance operation that everything was revealed. In the apartment in Sundsvall, the woman in her 30s and her boyfriend of the same age were found sleeping and arrested.
In the residence, the police found around 200,000 in cash and a quantity of narcotics. In the couple’s car, they found additional drugs, which were packaged in portions. Suspicions were raised that the couple worked selling drugs.
Pressed in chats
When the police emptied the woman’s cell phone, they found chat conversations she had with her son, who is under 15 years old. It showed how she pressured the boy and swished him to perform various services.
In a chat, the mother writes that she and her boyfriend are in Stockholm and wants her son to go to town to “work a little”. The boy replies that he can’t take it and that he wants to get some sleep. The conversation shows how she then pressures him.
The son: Well, here I am working all day, then I have to get out in the rain, get wet, sit on a bus for an hour and then go home tonight, I can’t take it, I’m not you, I almost spat today , can hardly walk, feel sick, stomach ache, but still I was there all day
The mother: Go there, please, and I’ll call you sick tomorrow. So you can sleep. Please.
Denies crime
The boy says in questioning that he did not understand what was in the chats and that he was going to work mowing the lawn. The mother and the boyfriend have consistently denied any wrongdoing.
According to the indictment, the couple must have gone to Stockholm on at least six occasions between June and September 2024 to pick up and sell narcotics. From July to September, the boy traveled around on an electric scooter and by bus and delivered drugs to various customers in Sundsvall, according to the indictment.
Imprisonment and deportation
Now the Sundsvall district court sentences both the mother and the boyfriend to five years in prison each for serious drug offences. They are also convicted of involving a minor in crime, for exploiting the boy.
The boyfriend, who is a Tunisian citizen, is also sentenced to deportation and is prohibited from returning to Sweden after serving his sentence.
