Families of Israeli prisoners started a 5-day march to the Prime Minister’s Residence in Jerusalem, approximately 65 kilometers from the capital Tel Aviv, demanding that the Israeli government do more to release the prisoners. Carrying photographs of the captives in their hands, families chanted the slogan “Bring them home now” during the march.
“WHERE ARE YOU?”
Shelly Shem Tov, a relative of the captive, said in her statement: “I demand Benjamin Netanyahu and the cabinet to respond to us and take action. Where are you? Where are you?” said.
“IT IS NOT MY JOB TO FIND A SOLUTION”
Amit Zach, a relative of the captive, said, “I don’t feel like we’re in safe hands. We don’t think we’re getting enough information. We’re in the dark. We want answers. I don’t have a solution, but it’s not my job to find a solution. My job is to want my family back.”
HAMAS DECLARED THAT THEY WERE READY TO RELEASE
In his statement yesterday, Abu Ubeyde, spokesman for Hamas’ armed wing Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, stated that they were ready for the release of around 70 women and children in exchange for a 5-day ceasefire and the release of 275 Palestinian women and children held in Israeli prisons. Ubeyde stated that Israel evaded the agreement in question and was postponed, and that they met with Qatari mediators on the issue.
It is estimated that approximately 240 people, aged between 9 months and 85, are held captive in the Gaza Strip. Hamas has released a total of 4 hostages to date, and 1 hostage was rescued by the operation carried out by the Israeli army. (UAV)
