The Prime Minister: “Inside New Weaves”
It is mainly in the Stockholm area that the new bomb wave has rinsed. According to information to TV4 News, over 100 police officers around the country have been requested as reinforcement. So far in January, over 30 blasts have taken place in Sweden.
– We are in a new wave of violence, it is quite obvious. These criminal gangs, they show a total indifference to what is happening in residential areas and doorways. Their violence is now affecting the whole of society. There are many families who wonder, “Is it my gate that is blown up tomorrow?” We share that turmoil, says Ulf Kristersson at the press conference.
The prime minister believes that it will take the entire 20s to solve these problems.
– The fact that we do not have control over the wave of violence is quite obvious. Had we had it we would not have been here, he says.
Government’s proposal: “Radical change”
The prime minister also says that the government chooses to make the law on secret coercive means where children under 15 can also be intercepted. The investigation was handed over around Christmas and it was proposed that the law would come into force in the summer of 2026, but the government wants it to be in place already on October 1 this year.
– This is a radical and big change. We are now forcing the legislation to come into force in the fall of 2025, says Ulf Kristersson.
– It is to access the clients who order crimes from children in Sweden, he continues.
Ulf Kristersson also announces that the government is preparing for a storage penalty that is not limited in time.
