President Zelenskyy was traveling in Kyiv when a car collided with his motorcade.
“The president has been examined by doctors. He is not seriously injured,” said spokesperson Serhij Nikiforov in a short post on Facebook
The news of the car accident comes after President Volodymyr Zelenskyi on Wednesday visited the town of Izyum in the Kharkiv region, which was recently retaken by Ukrainian forces.
According to a kort post on Facebook the president is said to have been traveling in his motorcade in the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, when the accident occurred.
Another passenger car is said to have collided with the car in which Zelenskyj was traveling for unknown reasons.
Took an ambulance
Presidential spokesman Serhiy Nikiforov says that Zelenskyi was examined by an accompanying doctor, but that he is not seriously injured.
The driver of the car received treatment at the scene of the accident and was later taken to hospital by ambulance.
Nikiforov states that the accident will be investigated by the police, but gave no further details about the circumstances.
Met soldiers
On Wednesday, Zelenskyi was in Izyum to meet soldiers who participated in the counteroffensive and see the devastation in the city.
He also participated in a ceremony where the Ukrainian flag was raised again.
