Stubb’s state visit begins in a heated atmosphere. The honorary company is in place in Tallinn’s Freedom Square.
An audience of a few hundred people has gathered in the square glowing with heat. Small Finnish flags are flying. Among the audience are Finns, but also Finnish-Estonian mixed families.
The welcome ceremony will be followed in Tallinn by Finns Jatta and Aila, who say they arrived there by chance.
Rainer Hakia and Päivi Walden from Lahti also happened to be on vacation in Tallinn at the time of the president’s state visit.
The ceremony will also be followed by the Estonians Liina Kanarbik (left), Mikk-Erik Saidla, Rene Ron Vest, Teele Joost, Lüuli Junti and Eva Liisa Vahtramaa.
