AK Party Deputy Chairman and Party Spokesperson Ömer Çelik also made a statement following the International Court of Justice’s decision regarding Israel. Çelik, who shared a post on his social media account, used the following statements:

“The International Court of Justice has issued an interim injunction decision stating that Israel has violated some of its obligations within the framework of the Genocide Convention. The decision of the International Court of Justice is an extremely important development in terms of considering Israeli massacres within the framework of genocide in the context of international law.
We hope that the decision of the International Court of Justice will lead to the justice demanded by all Human Rights defenders, especially Palestinians, who want justice for the Palestinian people.
We will follow this decision together with the international community and continue to fight to stop the massacres Israel is committing in Palestine. The Netanyahu Administration will be held accountable before humanity and history for its occupation and genocide policies in Palestine.
“We are grateful to the South African authorities and people, who were the legal applicants for the decision of the International Court of Justice, human rights lawyers and our MPs who followed the case on the spot.”
