Ukrainian authorities are preparing for a voluntary evacuation of the areas around Kherson and Mykolaiv, CNN reports.
The reason is that parts of the infrastructure in the regions are so destroyed that it may be difficult to live in the areas during the coming winter.
– It’s about preparing for winter. We realize that we will not have time to repair the damaged infrastructure in time, says Deputy Prime Minister Iryna Vereshtjuk.
