Premiere of “Höga Kusten” at the new open-air theater in Lövvik – a tribute to the time of the sawmills and Tomas Ledin’s family history

July 11 is the time for the premiere of “Höga Kusten – truths and tales from the sawmills’ time” at the newly built open-air theater in Lövvik.

The performance takes place in Tomas Ledin’s childhood area and depicts the life and love between his grandfather Jonas and grandmother Svea, who met and settled in the area.

Firefighters in the village

The outdoor theater, built by local zealots, will host the show, and will have a capacity of 900 seats.

– It is absolutely outstanding what has been achieved in a place that only has 80 permanent residents, there is a fantastic community here in the village, in Lövvik, says Tomas Ledin.

The performance will be accompanied by songs from Ledin’s album “Höga kusten” from 2013.

– Many songs come from that record. Then I also reworked and wrote several completely new songs for this village play, he says.

Local talent

In addition to well-known actors such as Morgan Alling and Sussie Eriksson taking part in the performance, several roles are also played by local talents. The idea with the village game is to continue in that spirit in the future, says Tomas Ledin.

A total of nine performances are scheduled between July 11 and July 21.
