Prosecutors begin a preliminary investigation after reporting against the strongly criticized thesis “Global political Islam? The Muslim Brotherhood and the Islamic Federation in Sweden” by Sameh Egyptson, reports Svenska Dagbladet.

The thesis, which was approved by Lund University last year, proves, according to the author, that Swedish society is infiltrated by Islamists. Specifically, by the Muslim Brotherhood – a large international Sunni Muslim network with an idea that Islam, with Sharia law and caliphate, should influence politics.

The Appeals Board for Ethics Review (Önep) has previously prosecuted the thesis, because it is believed that Egyptson handled sensitive personal data without ethics review permission. Egyptsson himself claims that the thesis was registered before the law on such permission was introduced – and denies that he handled sensitive personal data at all.
