Dagens Nyheter’s Middle East correspondent Emma Bouvin wins the Nils Horner prize in 2024.
“Because she illustrates the horror of the Israel-Hamas war with a personal style and a strong closeness to human suffering on both sides, while at the same time analyzing and expanding the major political consequences of the events on the battlefield,” reads the jury’s justification.
The award was established by Borås Tidning in 2015 in memory of journalist Nils Horner, who was shot to death in Kabul in 2014 while covering the presidential election in Afghanistan.
