The speculation surrounding next year’s NHL draft is in full swing.
Sweden has previously had several players selected at an early stage – players such as Mats Sundin and Rasmus Dahlin.
Now another Swedish super talent can take a place on that list.
Örebro is at the top of the SHL table after a strong autumn. A contributing factor to this is a 17-year-old super talent from Karlstad, namely Leo Carlson. The young forward stepped into the action already last season when he accounted for three goals and six assists in 35 games, but already after 17 games this year he has accounted for two goals and ten assists for his Örebro – and now he is highly praised for the next year’s NHL draft.

Celebrate the talent
It is the site McKeen’s Hockey that has now released its ranking of players who may be selected early in next year’s NHL draft. On the list, they place Leo Carlsson in third place while writing that the Swedish star, who will see himself defeated by Connor Bedard and Adam Fantilli, “is doing exceptionally well in the SHL”.
The site’s top ten list also includes AIK’s great talent, the Slovak Dalibor Dvorsky which is ranked as number eight.
