Alexander Isak has impressed in the Premier League so far.
Now comes a powerful tribute from one of the league’s big names.
– He can be really, really good, admits Arsenal icon Ian Wright.
Recently became young Alexander Isak the big prestige acquisition for the new multi-billion building Newcastle. Around SEK 750 million was required to attract the 22-year-old from Real Sociedad and La Liga to the Premier League.
Isak’s success
Already in his debut, the Swedish great talent began to pay his price when he struck directly at the classic arena Anfield against Liverpool itself. Isak first scored 1-0 deliciously and then 2-0 even more beautifully, before it was called off for offside.
Newcastle’s most expensive signing of all time obviously has enormous pressure on him to succeed and after the dream debut, it was a tougher match last time against Crystal Palace. Isak had a great chance to break the 0-0 deadlock but missed his clear free kick and the match also ended goalless.
The tribute
The Swede has nevertheless shown enough in his first two games in the Premier League to convince one of the league’s biggest names. Namely Arsenal’s club icon Ian Wright who was for a long time the club’s all-time top scorer with 185 goals in 288 games, before Thierry Henry broke that goal record.
Wright is convinced that Isak will be a huge success in England and explains why Newcastle have made a very good signing.
– I like Isak in Newcastle, another 190 centimeter tall striker. Just watching him score his first goal… And it was a shame with his next chance (in the Palace game), when he tried to chip it in, says the legend in “The Kelly & Wright Show”.
The one for the goal king is actually quite impressed by the Swede.
– I think that in Newcastle, the way he plays, he can do well as a nine. With the counter play, he presses and possesses great skill. He could be a really, really good signing. I think he will be a very good signing actually, says Ian Wright.
