Here we describe in detail the components of the three strand builds. In doing so, we’ll go into more detail on the required exotics, strand options, mods, and how you need to play the build. Also, for these strand builds, it doesn’t matter if you’re a Hunter, Titan, or Warlock – there’s something for every class.

Spheres of Power more important than ever: After Destiny 2: Lightfall, Orbs of Power are once again more important than ever. Those who generate a lot of orbs are incredibly good at pushing their abilities. That’s why it’s important that you pay attention to the right mods.

Strand Hunter – Lasso-wielding gunslinger

The hunter gains compelling traits in Destiny 2 with Strand. He’s the only class that can swing a lasso around in his Super and throw it with a bang at his enemies. His lasso is as sharp as a steel cable and can literally cut a huge group of enemies in half in the Super’s heavy attack.

Our first strand build works with the exotic The Sixth Coyote, which grants you two dodge charges.

Strand Hunter Build with the Exotic “The Sixth Coyote”

What makes the build so special? With this build, the hunter can bind any opponent. Thanks to the exotic, he has the freedom to use Bind twice in a row. Fighters can no longer shoot and fight back. This means that even tormentors and champions are helpless. It can also be used to stun Unstoppable Champions.

  • “The Sixth Coyote” can: The functionality of this chest armor is very simple. It grants you a second charge for the hunter class ability – that is, for dodging.
  • In this strand build we use the hunter exo “The Sixth Coyote”

We have listed everything that we are currently using in our hunter build here. Of course, this can still be adjusted according to your own playstyle, for example by trying a different grenade as well as different aspects, fragments or mods.

    Our recommendation for this build:

  • Super Ability: Threadwalker > Silk Sweep – combines a grappling hook with a rope arrow.
  • Grenade: Tether Grenade – A type of bola that can bind enemies.
  • Melee: Thread Tip – A rope dart that damages targets, ricochets, and refunds energy.
  • class ability: Reckless Dodge – Near enemies, your melee recharges.
  • Armor Exotic: “The Sixth Coyote” – Exotic Chest Armor
  • strandaspectsCaptivating impact
Attack your targets by lunging at them from above, smashing them to the ground, and binding them on impact.widow’s silk
You have an extra grenade. Your swinging creates a swinging tangle at the swinging point. So hang over more often and generate hangover points that you and your task force can use indefinitely.

For the strand fragments for this hunter build, we recommend you:

    strandfragmentsthread of defense:
Picking up an Orb of Power grants Braided Armor.
    Thread of Mind:
Defeating bound targets grants class ability energy.
    Thread of generation:
Dealing damage generates grenade energy.Thread of Survival:
Binding, Decomposing, and Rending effects on targets last longer.

The build can be complemented with the following weapons and values:

  • Armor Values: For the hunter, we recommend focusing on the highest possible mobility, resilience and discipline values in the armor.
  • Kinetic Weapon: The exotic submachine gun “Osteo Striga” does damage over time or the exotic auto rifle “Quicksilver Storm” with its catalyst “Nano-Tangle” because then you can create additional tangles.
  • Energy Weapon: To use the powerful Volatile Missiles option, we recommend a Void weapon in the Energy slot.
  • Weapon Perks: String weapons with the hatchling perk.
  • To round out the build, the armor mods are also important. They bring you more benefits. In this table you will find all the mods we use.

However, note: The first row of the mod overview is based on your own armor stats. So if you need more resilience instead of grenades, for example to get to 100, you have to change that accordingly.

All the armor mods needed for the Hunter Strand build

How is the build playing? The hunter becomes a lasso-wielding gunslinger with this build. His task: nothing moves and doesn’t shoot back.

In order for you to succeed, you use your grenade first in a fight. It will bind the enemies hit, i.e. hang them in the air. You can now eliminate them without much resistance. It gives you the option to have defeated enemies create a tangle that you can then use again. You can shoot it, causing an explosion, or you can throw it. However, we often find shooting to pieces more effective. In addition, you always have your evasive jump ready to bind other targets.

The reason this build works so well is because of the Thread of Mind fragment, which grants you class ability energy when defeating bound targets. In addition, the aspect “Binding Impact” comes into play, which you can also use to bind enemies. In between you can also use your ult for tougher opponents.

So this build is a no-brainer when it comes to maxing out your enemies’ immobilisation. Hunters can use it to keep their opponents in the air almost indefinitely.

On the next page, it’s the warlock’s turn to unleash the meanest needle in all of Destiny 2 on his opponents.
