Power outages at Gothenburg’s central station affect the trains

There is currently a stop to train traffic in Gothenburg.
This is because there is a power cut at the central station.
– It must be some kind of contact line fault, says Västtrafik’s press communicator Henrik Kjellberg.

There is currently a power cut at Gothenburg’s central station, according to Västtrafik.

– There must be some kind of catenary fault and it affects all tracks to and from Gothenburg’s central station, says Henrik Kjellberg, press communicator.

The Swedish Transport Agency writes on its website that train traffic has been stopped since 18:10 due to an electrical fault.

– The traffic between Gothenburg and Stockholm is working as it should, says Bengt Olsson, press manager at the Swedish Transport Agency.

He states that it is a catenary just outside Gothenburg’s central station that has been demolished.

– The power is automatically switched off if a contact line is torn, that’s how the security system looks like, says Olsson.

There is currently no forecast for when the power outage may be resolved.

– We have people out there who will return as quickly as possible, says Bengt Olsson.
