Postnord’s big change – 2,900 mailboxes disappear

Postnords big change – 2900 mailboxes disappear

The background to the decision is an inventory which showed that the boxes are not being used. Over the past 14 years, the number of letters sent has decreased by 65 percent and the number of mailboxes is adapted to the old volumes, says Postnord’s press manager Anders Porelius.

— Every day we drive nine laps around the world and if we can reduce those distances, we will of course do it from a sustainability perspective. Even for employees, it is unnecessary to go and empty empty mailboxes, he tells TT.

2,900 out of a total of 22,000 mailboxes are to be removed, but there may be more, says Anders Porelius.

— We are looking at whether we should expand this.
