(Finance) – The impact of COVID-19 on airplane transport and the Baggage of experiences drawn from it are among the topics discussed today, in Nicosia (Cyprus), in the international conference “The impact of Covid 19 on air transport lessons learned preparing for the future”.
The meeting was organized by EATEO (European Association of Aviation Training and Educational Organizations), of which the President is Director General of the National Agency for Civil Aviation (ENAC) Alessio Quaranta, and by FSF-MED (Flight Safety Foundation), in collaboration with EASA, Eurocontrol and with the Government of the Republic of Cyprus.
“The goal of today’s conference – said the Director General, Alessio Quaranta – is not simply to present the impact that Covid has had on air transport, which remains one of the areas most affected by the crisis. We must analyze the lessons we have learned during the pandemic and, above all, understand what the aviation sector and industry can do to react to crises and effectively address any similar future situations with deleterious effects on the sector “.
There conference hosted the interventions of the main associations and institutions dealing with civil aviation including the Director General of Eurocontrol Eamonn Brennan, the Director General DG Move of the European Commission Henrik Hololei and the EASA Executive Director Patrick Ky.
Eng. Fabio NicolaiCentral Director of Operations and Technical Standards, presenting a report on the need to have coordinated and harmonized measures at a global, regional and national level, which must be mutually accepted by the various States to promptly address crisis situations, always with the utmost respect for safety of flight.
EATEO is a European organization that deals with training aeronautics in favor of all components of the aviation system, including regulators, airlines, airports, air navigation service providers, trade associations, universities, research centers. It is non-profit and was founded in Cyprus in June 2016 with the aim of creating a common forum for all European aeronautical training service providers. The aim is to contribute, in a consociative form, to the safety and development of civil aviation, coordinating the common positions to be represented in European and international fora.
