The technology-heavy Nasdaq was the strongest during the day, which after the interest rate announcement was at plus 2.5 percent. The broad S&P 500 also showed good spirits during the day and had gained 1.4 at the same time. The Dow Jones was up 0.4 percent.
The streaming company Spotify, which during the day delivered a quarterly report that was met with the approval of the market, increased sharply in US trading and was barely two hours before closing plus almost 12 percent.
Tuesday’s quarterly reports from tech giants Alphabet and Microsoft were below expectations, but on Wednesday they traded higher and are in the red. Alphabet is 6.9 percent and Microsoft plus 5.2 percent.
