Poseidon’s CEO Lena Molund Tunborn receives harsh criticism in a new whistleblower report

The City of Gothenburg’s whistleblower function released a report on misconduct within Bostads AB Poseidon on Wednesday. It is based on about ten written whistleblower tips and about 40 employees have been heard in the case, it reports Gothenburg Post.

Equal in recruitment

In the report that SVT Nyheter Väst has seen, it appears that in 2019, CEO Lena Molund Tunborn began the process of introducing a new managerial role called “property manager” within Poseidon.

One of those who received the positions and who was already employed within the company had, according to the report, close connections to leading people within Poseidon and therefore the recruitment process is deemed not to have been carried out objectively.

During a three-year period, the employee also received a salary increase of over 20,000 kroner, a significantly higher salary increase than the general allowance and a larger bonus than colleagues with the same position.

Alarm about poor working environment and culture of silence

In the report, criticism is directed at the lack of working environment within Poseidon, where CEO Lena Molund Tunborn is singled out as responsible for a distinct culture of silence for fear of losing her job.

According to the report, she must also have purchased services for a total of SEK 3.5 million from two consultants, without following procurement laws and regulations.

– I take it as seriously as possible and that it was never my or any of my employees’ intention to circumvent rules and laws, says Lena Molund Tunborn to SVT Nyheter Väst.

During Thursday morning, the board met to discuss the situation.

– What emerges is serious. We received the report yesterday and needed to meet to talk about what it stands for to see how we can move forward, board chairman Salam Kasas (S), said after the meeting.
