Tens of thousands of young Catholics are expected in Lisbon for World Youth Day (WYD) from August 1 to 6, in the presence of Pope Francis despite his fragile health. For this first edition of this major event of the Catholic Church since the Covid-19 pandemic, the Portuguese capital has prepared to welcome more than a million people. The official launch will be celebrated on Tuesday evening August 1st.
