Portuguese deputies adopted, Friday, January 31, a moratorium prohibiting the mining prospecting of the seabed until 2050 on Friday. A law will follow and it will be the first of its kind in Europe. Until now, only Norway has planned to authorize prospecting, the Nordic country has finally given up delivering prospecting permits this year in its arctic waters.
