A Port Lambton won has won a large financial prize. Offered $1,000 a week through a cash-for-life lottery prize win, Jacqueline Van Dommelen opted to take a lump-sum payment of $675,000.
The 30-year-old mother told gaming officials she bought the ticket on a whim.
“I played it while waiting for dinner to cook,” she said. “The first game I played revealed three cash-for-life symbols – I thought my heart was going to pound right out of my chest.”
Van Dommelen and her husband plan to pay for their children’s educations.
“I’m overjoyed to know my kids will be able to start their adult life without student loans,” she said. “We’re also considering splurging and buying a boat so we can enjoy family time together.”
