The 22-year-old put in a strong effort and moved up 15 places after the 22nd place in the New Year’s Eve sprint.
— It was a good race today. We are happy with that. Good stage. Two good days here in Val Müstair, says William Poromaa.
TT: Why were you pissed off, if you remember?
— No, but it was probably the feeling that we had a little more to collect. Then everyone probably does what they can and so on. I think if we had been helped more we would have gained more seconds than we did.
Norwegian star Johannes Høsflot Klæbo won for the second day in a row. The 26-year-old, who has won the tour twice before, took the overall 13th stage victory of his ski career in the Tour de Ski and thereby tied Petter Northug’s, who ended his professional career, record for the number of stage victories in the tour, according to NTB.
Klæbo won by just over ten seconds ahead of compatriot Pål Golberg and the Italian Federico Pellegrino and extended his lead in the tour.
Calle Halfvarsson was the next best Swede in the New Year’s men’s race and finished in 13th place.
On Tuesday, the Tour de Ski continues with a 10 kilometer classic, individual start, in Oberstdorf for the ladies and gentlemen.
