Popular restaurant chain goes bankrupt

A record number of companies in Sweden are going bankrupt. During the first three months of the year, 2,784 companies were forced to shut down operations, which is an increase of 59 percent compared to 2023.

According to the credit information company Syna, more companies will go bankrupt in the next six months, and the restaurant, construction and trade industries are predicted to be particularly affected.

Klang Market in bankruptcy

Now another popular chain has gone to the grave. On Monday, Klang Market was declared bankrupt, writes nu.se.

The chain had 14 restaurants around Sweden: Karlaplan, Mall of Scandinavia, Hornstull, Uppsala, Sergels torg, Nights by Klang, Västerås, Gothenburg, Malmö, Växjö, Umeå, Sundsvall and Östersund.

Klang Market has been struggling with bad finances for a long time and started construction with 10 million in debt in October.

At the time of bankruptcy, Klang Market had 70 employees.
