Popular clothing chain in bankruptcy

The popular fashion company Stajl has retailers of its clothes throughout Sweden, but can also be found in selected stores in Denmark, Norway and Finland.

Stajl was founded in 2016

The chain was founded in 2016 by Susanne Glennmyr Sjölund and Erik Glennmyr and started from the Gothenburg area.

Their vision is to sell trendy basic garments in beautiful materials, they write on their website. The clothes have been seen on several celebrities and have been a popular clothing brand.

“The collection has an elegant bohemian touch and all clothes are well thought out both in terms of materials, working conditions during production and the environment. Each garment is unique and can differ from one another,” writes Stajl on his homepage.

Stajl has filed for bankruptcy

But now the store chain has filed for bankruptcy after a tough period, which also Habits reported on.

In 2023, Stajl’s turnover decreased by approximately 13.4 million, compared to turnover in 2022.

This summer, Stajl opened three new stores in Helsingborg, Västra Frölunda and Uddevalla. But now they have filed for bankruptcy and what will happen to the company’s clothing brand and the employees is unclear.
