Popular action-RPG on Steam wants to lure fans with new content, but chooses the worst timing

With the action RPG Last Epoch, developer Eleventh Hour Games is now heading towards the release of version 1.0. Multiplayer was recently added to the action hit on Steam, so fans can now embark on adventures together. New content will be coming soon. You can find out why this won’t suit everyone here.

What kind of game is this? It is the Action-RPG Last Epoch by Eleventh Hour Games, which is currently still in Early Access. It is based on well-known sizes, such as the Diablo series or Path of Exile. However, Last Epoch sees itself more as a hybrid between the two titles.

For example, there is a skill system that is based on Path of Exile, but goes its own way and is less complicated. On the other hand, it offers more design options than Diablo 3 back then.

New content for Last Epoch is planned for the end of May on Steam

Why is the timing bad? The new content, dubbed Rising Flames, will be introduced with Patch 0.9.1. This happens on May 25, 2023 – just before the release of Diablo 4. This raises the question of whether the timing is good.

In fact, as the colleagues from mmorpg.org.pl suspect, the content of “Rising Flames” was moved forward by four weeks precisely because of the imminent release of Diablo 4.

Diablo 4 will be officially released on June 6, 2023, with the Deluxe and Ultimate Editions including four-day early access. With many already pre-ordering the original genre leader, Action RPG fans now have a de facto 6 days to enjoy Rising Flames content.

Last Epoch can still score with its fan base and will probably find its followers for the content of “Rising Flames”.

In addition, the release of highly anticipated titles such as Diablo 4 should be treated with caution, since the past has already shown that the server stability is anything but given with other games of this caliber.

Last Epoch thus remains one of 10 noteworthy alternatives to Diablo 4.
