In 2025, the popular soft drink Jolt Cola from the 1980s will return.
The soft drink became a real talking point about 40 years ago, when it tried to compete with Coca-cola and Pepsi and claimed to contain “all the sugar and twice as much caffeine”.
The company filed for bankruptcy in 2009
The soft drink quickly became popular and was often associated with gamers. But in 2009, the company filed for bankruptcy and the soft drink disappeared from the market. It later appeared in 2017, but quickly stopped being sold again.
But now Jolt Cola is coming back to the stores, according to Ryan Monahan, marketing manager at Redcon1, who leads the new launch.
– But in a much more modern way, he says CNN.

Will compete with the energy drink companies
The idea of the new launch is not for the soft drink to compete with the big sellers Coca-cola and Pepsi anymore, but rather with the energy drinks Red Bull, Monster and Celsius.
Jolt Cola is being presented as an alternative to energy drinks this time and will be sold in half-liter cans and contain 200 milligrams of caffeine.
