Popular 4H farm may be forced to close and the

It was recently that the popular farm Björklunds Hage 4H in Bromma in western Stockholm posted a text on its Facebook page and said that the future for the farm right now looks dark.

The farm risks disappearing in June

The reason is that the farm has been terminated for renegotiation of the premises they rent from Bromma district administration. Now the money has run out and the process of renegotiating a new agreement is taking too long, says 4H-gården.

“Unfortunately, if we don’t find a solution, we will have to make the decision to start a liquidation plan for the business as a whole, which means that the farm may close in June. Thus, all the animals and all the activities that we carry out today will disappear.”, writes the 4H farm on its Facebook page.

The 4H farm also writes that they consider it unreasonable that more than a third of the funds that the farm receives from the sports administration, to run a children’s and youth association, should go towards paying rent and operation to Bromma district administration.

4H-gården operations manager: “Unsustainable situation”

Now another rent increase is being discussed, which would mean that the farm will no longer be able to afford to run its business.

– The situation we are in is nothing new. Already at the beginning of last year, we pointed out our unsustainable situation regarding the rent. Therefore, we had hopes of being able to quickly arrive at a new collaboration with the district administration, says the association’s chairman Jennifer Parker and the operations manager Tina Andersson to News24.

The farm was dismissed for renegotiation in September 2023 and since then the process of establishing a new collaboration with the district administration has been ongoing.

– Unfortunately, the process takes far too long. We are now in a situation where we need to open registration for our summer camps in order to bring in new funds, but we cannot open registration as we have not yet received any feedback from the district administration which guarantees that we will remain after the end of June 2024 with a sustainable situation, say Jennifer Parker and Tina Andersson.

Many Bromma residents are now furious that the process is taking such a long time. The visitors have therefore started a collection of names, to try to save the farm and the animals and speed up the process with the district administration.

– We feel very appreciated and feel a lot of support that so many people want to show their support for us as a farm and association in a short time.
