The contamination under the Griftpark in Utrecht that had spread before the polluted area was packed in the 1990s has been completely cleared up thanks to the so-called Griftpark bacteria. The Board of Mayor and Aldermen writes this in a letter to the city council. The bacteria also slowly break down the contamination within the packed area.
