Based on preliminary results, France’s National Alliance is close to getting an absolute majority in parliament.

Based on the preliminary election results, the far-right National Coalition party is getting 34.2 percent of the votes in the first round of the French parliamentary elections.

The left-wing coalition New People’s Front is getting the second most votes with 29.1 percent of votes.

President Emmanuel Macron led by the centre-right Jäsnes coalition is getting 21.5 percent of the votes.

Based on these results, the National Alliance would get 260-310 representatives in the 577-seat parliament. An absolute majority requires 289 representatives.
