Romania’s Election Authority does not allow the outer right politician Calin Georgescu to stand in the country’s upcoming presidential election.
Georgescu won the first round in Romania’s annulled presidential election in November. Among other things, he is suspected of having been upset to documents that threaten the constitutional order in the country.
The election results were annulled due to suspicions that a Russian impact campaign helped Georgescu to an unexpected victory.
The message that he must not stand in the upcoming election has led to anger among his supporters.
The police say that people have broken through barriers to enter the election authority’s area, but add that the situation is currently under control.
