Polio vaccinations were able to start in Gaza News

Israel and Hamas have agreed on a short time window when vaccinations can be given.

Children’s polio vaccinations have started today in the Gaza Strip. Previously, it was estimated that the vaccinations could be started tomorrow.

The quick start was welcome, as the ceasefire agreement between Israel and the extremist organization Hamas for vaccination is very short.

A representative of the leadership of the Hamas-run Gaza Health Ministry told the AFP news agency that vaccinations will be given first in the central Gaza Strip. Vaccinations are provided by the UN, non-governmental organizations and local health care.

Gaza recently registered its first case of polio in a quarter of a century.
