A policeman in his 50s and a policeman in his 30s, who both work in the Stockholm area, have been charged with several crimes.

The indictment, where several parts are masked, shows that the older of the police officers tried to influence a person to give him information – despite the advice of his colleagues.

The person, who had gang connections, had previously received help from the police’s defector activity. Among other things, the business had urged the person to turn off their phone to make themselves unavailable to the network.

Despite that, the policeman put pressure on the person and asked him to turn on the phone again in order to be in contact with the criminal network.

“These measures were taken despite the fact that this entailed a significant risk to the person’s safety,” the indictment states, among other things.

The reason must have been that the policeman’s former informant had been murdered.

In the indictment, it also appears that the policeman contacted the defector activity to make them believe that the threat to the person had decreased.

The crimes are suspected to have taken place in 2022.

However, the policeman and the younger colleague were arrested in September 2023 – then suspected of serious drug offences.

In the indictment, it appears that the police officers are suspected of having come across a large amount of narcotics at the beginning of summer 2023. According to Aftonbladet’s information, the two police officers are suspected of having received a tip from a criminal person about where another person, also a criminal, had stored drugs.

They then raided and seized the narcotics.

Instead of reporting the find, or submitting it as a seizure, they kept the narcotics and held them in custody, according to the indictment.

According to Aftonbladet’s information, they must have kept it in a cupboard inside the police station. In the indictment, it also appears that one of the police officers has kept narcotics in a safe at home.

“XX has together and in agreement with another person illegally received, transported, packaged and stored xx, which is a narcotic and not intended for personal use, and also illegally possessed the narcotics,” the indictment states.

The indictment also states that the drugs can be linked to a criminal network.

The police officers are suspected of, among other things, serious drug offenses and gross misconduct. Both deny wrongdoing.
