A police officer has been killed and another injured in a knife attack in Brussels, Belgium. The person suspected of the attack was shot and “neutralized,” according to police.
“One of our patrols was attacked by a man armed with a knife,” the police announced.
“The two officers called for reinforcements. An officer from another patrol used his weapon to neutralize the attacker,” reports Le Soir newspaper.
The police also state that the two officers and the person who is suspected of the attack were taken to hospital.
According to a source in the judicial system, there is a suspicion that the incident is a terrorist attack, but the investigators are said to have not yet gathered enough evidence to substantiate it.
