Police were alerted after threats against the Maritime School in Umeå

The threats were allegedly posted on social media as early as Sunday evening, but on Monday students showed them to mentors at the school. At Sjöfruskolan, students go from preschool to sixth grade.

– They in turn contacted me and I called the police. I believe that one should not write such things, regardless of whether it is on social media or otherwise, says Helena Löfgren.

Unlawful threats against group

The police were on site at the school in Tomtebo during the morning to interrogate, among other things, and a report of illegal threats against a group has been drawn up. However, the threat is not considered acute at the moment.

– We do not take any further action as it is not considered serious, says Maria Linné, press spokesperson at the police.

Guardians have been contacted

At Sjöfruskolan, all staff meetings during the day have been canceled and student health has been released so that more adults can be present among the students in the corridors. The school has also informed guardians about the incident via the Unikum platform.

– The police have made the assessment that there is no danger to students and staff, so we continue as usual. There are some guardians who contacted me because they want to hear me say that there is no concern, says Helena Löfgren.

At the moment, there is no suspected perpetrator.
