– After a very quiet start to the fourth quarter, things started to pick up in mid-November, this is the latest increase that we talked about, says Eva Johanssoncrime analyst at the crime coordination region East, in a press release.

Police advice: Do not store valuables here
Break-ins where the thief has barely left any trace behind are difficult for the police to investigate, who urge the victim not to start cleaning or moving things after a break-in.
– Leave the crime scene untouched, i.e. do not move in the home or in the garden adjacent to where the perpetrators entered.

Since burglars are often short on time, they also don’t have much time to search. Therefore, the police urge those who are going away over Christmas to keep valuables in unpredictable places.
– Feel free to keep some “cheap” jewelry, bijouterie, in jewelry boxes in an easily accessible box and jewelry with a higher value, financial or affective value, more hidden. It is possible that the perpetrators stop looking when they have found the first boxes, concludes Eva Johansson i the press release.
